Service Description

In this fun summer program, your child will learn the foundational skills for reading and writing. Together we will address letter-recognition, rhyming, letter sounds, letter case, compound words, syllables, phonetic spelling, easy sight words, story-telling, and turn-taking. We will also practice fine-motor control, hand-eye coordination, progressing from drawing and forming letters to forming short words. This course will build your child’s confidence with every step, through wonderful books, engaging games, and enriching activities that will spark your child’s excitement for books, reading, and writing. Your child is ready for this course if they can recognize letter forms and some letter sounds. They can hold a crayon or pencil to copy simple shapes (such as circle, cross, triangle), and may be able to write some letters in isolation, or even write their first name. This is a 4-week course on Thursdays from 5-5:45pm This is a parent-child class. LOCATION: 24 N.
