Service Description

In this fun summer program, your child will learn the foundational skills for reading and writing. Together we will address letter-recognition, rhyming, letter sounds, letter case, compound words, story-telling, and turn-taking. We will also practice fine-motor control, hand-eye coordination, progressing from scribbling to drawing, copying shapes, and forming letters, via a multi-sensory approach. This course will build your child’s confidence with every step, through wonderful books, engaging games, and enriching activities that will spark your child’s excitement for books, reading, and writing. Your child is ready for this course if they show interest in books and telling stories. Notice letters and words around them. Know how to properly hold a book. Understand that you read, left to right, and top to bottom. They can hold a large crayon, or feed themselves with a spoon or fork. This is a 4-week course on Monday mornings from 10-10:45am.
